ABOUT DAVE

Like you, Dave Birckhead observes how technology shapes business and society. How quickly will mobile devices be adopted? What is the best way to uncover insights buried within vast amounts of data? Will social media change how we approach strategy and leadership? How do we take advantage of these developments in ways that benefit humanity, our organizations and ourselves? The magnitude of the changes will be stunning. And, we’re still in Spring Training.

With over twenty years of consulting, and most importantly, real-life, in-the-trenches business experience, Dave brings a distinctive point of view to the growing fusion of marketing and technology. He has been recognized for his deep knowledge and expertise of digital business, and his thought-leadership continues to be sought after by business executives.

As the Global Head of Marketing Technology at Spotify, Dave enjoys working with some of the best and brightest in the digital, marketing, advertising and technology fields. A frequent speaker and contributor to industry blogs, Dave shares insightful thoughts on topics ranging from leadership to poetry to strategy and marketing.  Prior to Spotify, Dave worked at Infinitive, a digital marketing consultancy, where he partnered with numerous Fortune 500 companies to help bridge the divide between strategy and execution and to bring about digital solutions that optimize business performance and accelerate innovation. Dave also helped start an award-winning business technology consulting firm where he grew along with the firm—from one of the first employees to partner and Chief Operating Officer. He often serves as an advisor to startups and volunteers his time with global and local nonprofit organizations.

Dave holds a Masters of Science in Management Information Systems and a Bachelors of Science degree with concentrations in Marketing and Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
